Each village has its own Religarium, which is a rope of braided ribbons, which is bound at the start of each village convocation as a symbol of how the village is bound together as a community.
The Religarium is braided from individual ribbons, each one representing a member of the community. Each villager carefully inscribes their name on a ribbon, symbolizing their unique identity and contribution to the community. The color of their ribbon signifies their membership stage: gray for new villagers, red for fire members, blue for water members, white for air members, and brown for earth members. The ribbons are intricately braided together, to form a rope that is not only strong but also flexible, embodying the unity and adaptability of the village.
Once the rope is fully braided, it is ritualistically tied off with ribbons of the narratorship. The color of these ribbons varies throughout the season depending on which phase of the hedonic rhythm the community is in. If the community is in ascetation, orange ribbons are used. If the community is in celebration, purple ribbons are used. If the community is in moderation, teal ribbons are used. The religarium is therefore a living symbol of the community’s composition and phase.
