The classical element of Fire symbolizes for us the ignition of our consciousness, light in the darkness, and hope for a better path forward. It is the representation of our passionate energy, and the power we can find inside ourselves to make changes to the world.
Walking through a wall of flame serves as the threshold to membership in The Assemblage of Areté. Though reasonably safe, flamewalking requires bravery; which symbolizes the courage required to seek enlightenment and begin the journey of Aretéanism. By symbolically announcing to the world that they are proud to be a member of our Assemblage, and that they wish to walk towards the light instead of away from it, the Fires of Aretéanism forge these individuals into Courageous Heroes of Areté!
Those who are 12 years of age or older may ask to participate and signify their official membership as Courageous Heroes in The Assemblage of Areté.
