Having genuine excitement for the things we engage ourselves in gives us greater power to succeed in our endeavors. Passion is also infectious and will help light a fire for areté in others. Being passionate does not mean blinding ourselves to other interests, in fact the opposite is true! When we fully commit ourselves to our interests and efforts we discover exciting new things which our curiosity can explore and our passion can extend to. Passion also means allowing ourselves to embrace the wide variety of human emotion of which we are capable of experiencing. While we should not let emotion rule our judgement, we should seek to experience our lives and the universe around us fully. Being passionate people allows us to experience more of what human life has to offer.
