If we are not learning we are retrogressing, and excellence evades our grasp.  We must continually seek to improve our knowledge, our intelligence, and our wisdom.  Our knowledge is the body of facts and information that we know, and provides a foundation from which to proceed.  Our intelligence is our ability to solve problems and extrapolate from the knowledge we currently have to gain more.  Wisdom is our capacity to apply the ideas generated by our intelligence, and make positive change in our world.  Together, they comprise our consciousness; our general understanding of the universe, including ourselves.  By learning new things we can elevate our consciousness out of the fog of our animal ancestry, and into planes of higher understanding than we as humans currently achieve.
